A new year begins at SNG 1-3-2023

Back at work at the studio on the first day of the new year work week. I got to tell you it felt good. There’s nothing like working and using your hands to make things no matter how old you are. It’s what keeps many of us strong and healthy. Not being retired doing little or nothing. Relaxing can kill you on a regular basis.

So I made a marble base for the Communion Bust. Today the eyes get glazed and she ships tomorrow.

Additionally I started pouring and vacuum forming parts for my rocket kit orders. Those will be finished today and shipped tomorrow.

Wed I’m back to finishing Mac Tonight. Once that’s done I start a new line of Famous Monster masks starting with the monster from “The Bride of Frankenstein”. This new year is going to be a big year for new masks.

Merry Christmas 12-24-2022

Our very own Iron Giant thanks you too! (He loves Christmas!)

Tomorrow, on Christmas day, I’ll post what I have been making for Mary for Christmas. Have a great Christmas Eve!!

All our best and love,

Steve, Mary, Rosie and Nova

Went in yesterday for awhile and I finished the paint job on the Communion bust. I have yet to glaze the eyes. It turned out very well. This will ship after the holiday week next week as will all orders. thanks for your patience

Christmas-holiday week and shipping 12-22-2022

Got the communion bust out of the mold yesterday. It is beautiful. I’ll trim it and paint it over the next couple of days. It won’t ship until after the holiday week. Shipping this time a year things get lost and can actually take longer to get to you. I had an order coming from a distance of one hour by car to Ventura and it took 8 days in the holiday shuffle. And I have had more than one package lost this time of year and an angry customer.

Any orders won’t be shipped until after the 1st of January week.

And please don’t ship us anything until after the holidays. Thank you.

Christmas week 12-21-2022

I have been working secretly on a Christmas present for Mary. As a result I can’t share it with you until after she opens it on christmas Eve. It has taken most of my time at the studio last week and this week although I finished it yesterday.

With a few orders that came in I’m busy pouring parts and yet another communion bust.

Rubber in the mold. I shoudl pull this from the mold later today and paint it this week.

The P-51 Mustang and other personal projects are all on hold until after the holidays. With my busy family and grandchildren scheduled to descend on me for the next two weeks these things will have to wait. I will continue to squeeze time in between the lines to finish my orders.

Next year I’m planning to make a series of Famous Monsters masks from the classic movies. They have been made before and they are available. But since I was a kid I have always dreamed of having these masks and wanted to make them. I just want to make them and experience the joy of making them.

They will be offered for sale as I go along. I’m also planning a Curse of the Demon mask. I always loved that design.
