What a long haul it has been. I can officially say that yesterday I have felt the best I have felt since the Grandkids visited back in Easter of this year. We didn’t have Covid (we were tested) but we had something and it was brutal. But I feel myself again and nothing makes you more grateful to be alive than good health. The song “I can see Clearly Now” comes to my mind. I can hear Cheech Marin singing it though. LOL
I have found the best way to get through something like this is to stay busy if you can. Mary and I pushed through it and the work and activities kept one’s mind and passed time. It was also a confidence booster because it showed you could do things you thought were not possible. Everything from flying to getting through 30 orders of masks. Work with me here because there is always a positive to every negative or the universe would cease to exist.
Yesterday I packed and made a box for the Sixth finger mask. That mask is my largest and the standard boxes won’t fit. I painted a set of ears and packed up the rocket kit. The last two apes mask got packed as well.

Today everything ships and that’s it for a while. I’m officially caught up with a clean slate for the first time this year. Thanks for all the orders, it sure has kept me busy.

So now it’s time to start some new masks. I’m going to do two. One is the Talosian from the original Star Trek TV series.

The other from The Outer Limits. And it’s one of the more creepy, scary, episodes, O.B.I.T.

Both these masks will be full head latex. The Taloian will be a collectors display piece and the Outer Limits mask either wearable or for display.
I did fly the Sinbad last Sunday and it flew well. It needs a few tweaks and I’m making a better cowl for it. I started yesterday and made the cowl out of balsa thick sheets sanded to shape. This cowl has a better contour to the airframe and I didn’t need to use the spinner which made it hard to tighten down the prop. This will get covered with Ultrakote in matching colors.

Oh and remember that post I made about the maiden flight of my F-16? My friend Sam took these pictures of the moment she left the runway and came back to it safe and sound.

That was my Monday. A good day with lots done and a finish to that long road of work while being under the weather. Today looks bright.
Hi Neil ,
You might remember me I’m Koby Bennett’s English friend, may I just say you blog is really good and interesting .
A quick question , I think I have one of your Planet of the Apes prosthetics as it looks very similar to the ones you recently posted , I recently donated the mask to the Museum of Classic Sci-Fi ( the only museum in Europe dedicated to the genre , I would love to get your confirmation and a brief write up so it can be included in the exhibit display , I can’t seem to post here but if you reply by mail I’ll send photos by return , thanking you in advance
Best regards
John

Thanks so much. I will think on this. I may have to do a few more. I like to make them because they are cool to have and if they sell, well then great. Thanks for buying my masks!
