Much Progress and a new era

Lots of progress with sculpting on the computer and printing the sculpt. It took a week of studying, learning the techniques and procedures which was similar to a college course but I got through it and in the end ended up with an exact copy of what I sculpted a few weeks ago. Although this is nowhere near as large as I can print, I needed it to be this size for my commission project of making a shadow box similar to this one I made last year with Balok.

This is a huge breakthrough for me. Anything I can come up with I can make with my skills and bring into physical reality to hold in my hand. And I know I have said it before, “No AI was needed”. I find AI good for research only and would never consider it an artist tool. Because talented artists never need a machine to supplement their lack of talent. You either have it or you use AI which negates the idea of being an artist in this artist’s opinion. But I digress.

This opens up a whole universe of creation for me and Mary that eliminates heavy messy clay, 100 plus pound molds, pouring latex or resins which as I age are getting more difficult to do.

I am very excited about the future of this. I plan many other famous aliens and creatures from film and TV. I’ll also be doing a series of full figure Greys and head bust including the Mantis beings. All this will be available in our store soon. Including bringing back Whitley Strieber’s Communion being from his famous book.

The David McCallan Outer Limits 6th finger being started as a sculpture in Blender 3D.

Then I brought it into the slicer and prepped it for the Elegoo Jupiter printer and sized it to fit the shadow box. There will be the sliding door with the window added to the shadow box to simulate the machine David entered where he was genetically advanced to what they thought a man of the future would look like back in 1963,

Then I spent the week doing print tests and then I hit it and got the first beautiful print.

Here he is in the curing station.

And finally the cured unpainted first print. I will be painting this next week and making the shadow box up for the client.

This has been and an amazing journey and it’s just beginning. A new era for my art.

Checking in…

Since leaving nearly all social media and it’s noise this place and my YouTube channel is all that is left. I will attempt to keep this site up to date as much as possible but the YouTube channel does keep me very busy.

https://www.youtube.com/@SNG-Breaking.the.Silence

I know that much of what is on this channel is highly controversial and my intellectual health has been in question but I assure you I am quite healthy and of sound mind. The bottom line with any of the topics I have made films about or have expressed my views of reality have validity despite the debunkers and sceptics that claim I have no proof. Keep in mind they don’t have any proof to the contrary. None at all. Simply put, “you don’t know what you don’t know. ” It’s important to leave your disbelief and judgement at the door and listen rather than protest against something you know little or nothing about. This is how we learn and history has shown repeatedly that science through the ages has been wrong only to learn later that they were. That someone making fantastic claims turned out to be correct.

Now that we have that out of the way I have as always been busy. No longer will I ever be sculpting in clay, making huge heavy molds, and pouring rubber to make masks an sculpture when I can sculpt in the computer and resin 3D print the same art. This is not AI (which I am against using) this is still using my skill set and creating sculpture without the mess and heavy labor.

This is the Sixth Finger sculpture from The Outer Limits TV series. I did this sculpture in Blender. And it will be printed using these resin 3D printers. The final product will be hand painted by myself and made available to collectors. Now I know what you are thinking. “Won’t it have all those layer lines?” No. Resin printers print smoothly with little clean up necessary. I can make these prints any size I want. And they will last forever unlike a latex mask.

Our 3D printers and washer and curing stations.

In addition to making films and my “In Conversation” series with the YT channel I have been painting and illustrating.

A Praying Mantis type being often witnesses by experiencers.

And this one is based on a famous UFO case from the 60’s that took place in France. I’m working on a series of these and plan to have an art show at my studio later this year.

And I am still building a flying model airplanes. I always have a build going on in the background to escape to when needed. This will be a 30’s style biplane when finished.

This is a premade all balsa classic era pattern plane. I have been learning pattern flying after many years of radio controlled airplane flying because it’s challenging and will lead later on to my participating in contest events.

I have also been flying at scale events with scale aircraft I have built from scratch in the past. This one is a post war Russian jet fighter. One of their first and it flies very well.

This is a very short video that shows just how well this aircraft flies.

All in all things are going well and Mary and I have never been more busy and full of life despite this crazy world that I will hold comment on for the sake of actual sanity. As much as some people may think that my mind is in question I think this is really a case of “The pot calling the kettle black.”

Think positive and create art and love. It can make a difference and will touch everyone you know or will come to know.

Lost original “Beyond Communion Comics” prototype found

Back in 1994 Partin Powel a well known and successful writer for comic books asked me if I’d like to be involved in a Caliber Comics new comic named, “Beyond Communion”. Martin had a deep interest in the subject and was working with Whitley.

One night the phone rang. I picked it up and I was asked if I was Steve Neill. I said yes and the person said, “I’m Whitley Strieber”.

I laughed and said, “Who is this really?” thinking this was a prank by one of my friends who knew I always wanted to make contact with Stieber. I had tried in the past to no avail. But then the man insisted in a rather rough tone, “This is Whitley Strieber!”. We had a good laugh and quickly became friends for over 30 years.

He was very interested in my art. In particular that of the greys that were being seen in publications and TV. He asked, “How did you know?” which led to my explaining that I have these experiences.

I was asked by Martin and Whitley to make up a prototype comic in which I was to illustrate and letter the entire mockup. My late wife Gilly created the lettering and positioned the lettering in the hand illustrated pages. This was done old school with rubber cement.

As it turned out the comic book company did not like my art style for a comic but did like the whole concept and went ahead with making the comic with Martin writing the stories with Whitley’s experience. They used a straight black and white illustrator for the inside content while I would make the covers.

They did ask me to make up a couple of pages of just straight black and white inside illustrations as a second test but still passed on my art. I didn’t have that comic book plain style they preferred.

So we flash forward to today and Mary and I are at the studio when she is looking for something in the filing cabinets and shows me these clear folders that contain the original prototype Communion Comic I made in 1994. It was in perfect condition and I had no idea it survived the flooding of our house in 2023. I was in shock and pleased at the same time.

So I immediately scanned them into documents that could be shared with you on the web for the first time. No one has ever seen these with the exception of old pictures I had of them taken by a film camera back in the 90’s. The resolution didn’t allow you to read them and the color was poor.

To see and read the comic you will have to be a paid subscriber. To date I have many paid subscribers and I thought it was time I start offering paid subscriber content in appreciation of their love and support.

I have started another illustrated short novel with illustrations about the evolution of this experience. This is all hand illustrated without the use of CGI or AI. I plan to finish the first one in a few weeks to be followed up by more. And eventually they will be offered in illustrated novel form as comic style books. More on that later.

Thank you all for your continued support of my SubStack page it is deeply appreciated.
