Masks again, Laser Blast Figure is done, and a new slot car build. Next week I’ll be starting some new sculptures and that type 2 German U-boat from scratch.

Laser Blast figure will ship on Monday.

Tomorrow I’ll be heading to the lake to run the new type 23 and the Disney Nautilus. Video to follow.

Saturday at long last I get to run my Disney Nautilus. Yesterday I took a look at the boat and found it still needed work to be run. Although I trimmed the boat I forgot to finish the base, add a clear plastic rudder extension and affix the top of the hull firmly to the lower hull. The rudder extention is removable for display.

The way it was you drove the ram into a series of brass tubes inside the boat that were constant trouble. So from the button near the nose I drilled a tiny hole and put a brass screw through. Now there will never be a chance of losing the top of the hull while running it. This happened to me once with another boat and 2 years later someone at the local pond found it. Never again. So it’s all ready to go.

The Kit is a 1/77 scale 30 inch model once sold by Nautilus Dry Docks now out of production.

I also worked on the Amulet. Tiny little thing. The clear epoxy worked well. not a single bubble in the casting. I just have to add the little clear bubbles using a pin and drops of medium CA.
Today is finishing Laser Blast and painting a mask.

  I’m closing today on the first model being finished. The figure is removable from the base  using two screws that are counter sunk into the base bottom. This way I can ship it without the base on which in my experience has shown me is risky. Usually it will be broken as a result of poor handling.

The amulet has been cast in clear epoxy and will be added today completing the model.

First, the Laser Blast figures are moving along well. I have the second one made and ready to paint. I should have one complete this week and ready to ship.

All the latest mask orders were shipped yesterday. You should all have your tracking emails by now.
The most recent apes mask for Jeff was cast yesterday and comes out of the mold today. BTW I do plan to start sculpting a new mask soon. Some very Halloween. More on that later.

I did get this tool or jig for soldering brass and steel structures precisely. How did I ever do anything without this tool? And I did. Expect interesting things from this. Infact yesterday before I went home I made a new mast for one of my boats in brass to replace the styrene one that was always getting broken. I’ll take pictures today.

This will be the last film I do on this subject. This subject has always been unsuccessful for me. People avoid it like the plague. Film festivals reject these films. It’s taboo. This subject has been so stigmatized by our media, debunkers, so called skeptics, scientists, our government(s) and judgmental culture that very few will ever appreciate it. Any films I do in the future will be purely art-self expression and Sci-Fi based.

In Fact you’ll notice that anything having to do with the subject of the so-called paranormal has been removed from this site. The pages are still there and if you want access to them I’ll be happy to provide you with a private link. But my work with this subject has come to a close. The journal will be active by private link only posted on UKC.
With that said I will be making all kinds of cool stuff as always. Things that excite my soul and bring happiness and joy. After all, isn’t that what life is all about?

Inbound is this beauty.

A Ostorero Lotus 38 that took the Indy 500 by storm in 1965 and was one of my Dad’s (and mine) favorite race cars. This is a kit and I’ll get it this week. This slot car kit is amazing in it’s details. I will be doing a video build log on the car including running it on the track when it’s finished.

We started the film in June of this year. This will be the last episode of the “But Something is There” series. In Fact it’s my last film on this level of production until I have funding and a budget.   I have pulled all the favors I can on three films over the last 9 years. I am grateful to the people and friends that gave of their time. If I do another film the crew and actors must be paid.

Time will tell I have a couple of purely Sci-Fi films with positive messages I’d like to make.

This week we talk about building slot cars and their benefits. And a little back story on my history with slot cars.

So as promised the sub got trimmed in the hottub Sunday. The trimming went very well and I found no problems or leaks. She is already for this upcoming Saturday at  Yorba Regional Park.

BigDave was there in spirit the whole time with Bob. 😉

  But it’s getting there. The first one is always a learning experience. From there I apply all I have learned to the customer’s product. More painting, getting the shirt the correct color. Aging the base. Finishing the gun. And then there’s that amulet around my neck I need to add.
