I finished the Cyclops mask yesterday. It ships this week. I always let the paint dry out for 2 days. Even though it is dry to touch it takes time to bind to the rubber.
I also got some more work done on the Saturn 1B. I made a new escape tower for it out of bamboo sticks that’s pretty hardy. It will survive reentry well. I also got a coat of white paint on it too. Lots of paint and decal details to go yet.
Great day.Ad Astra,

I finished this Gorilla mask yesterday and got it shipped out. Today I’ll paint the Cyclops and out he goes to his new home too. Thanks for the orders guys!
Later today back to construction on this old Estes Saturn 1B kit from the 60’s. This one will be flown on 4 c motors.

And this one is a Black Brant sounding rocket. It also an old kit that was given to me by my friends at Smith Brothers Hobby Center. It’s ready to fly this Saturday.

Last Sunday I got to make the first flight on the Luscombe 8E Silvaire and it was a good one. Beautiful plane to fly. It was super hard to build but worth it in the end.

Monday was a great day and I got the Planet of the Apes gorilla mask painted and the Cyclops mask trimmed, patched and ready to paint. Next up is to do the hair work today and pack and send this mask in time for Halloween for my customer.
I also got a little more work done on this 1980’s Black Brant rocket kit. Despite being so old the kit and its components are in very good condition. I plan to fly this at our next launch this weekend.
My friend Sam Williams took these very nice shots of the Luscombe 8E Silvaire I built recently on its first flight at our field last Sunday. This was a very hard plane to build and it flew very well.

Got this Planet of the Apes mask out of the mold yesterday. This will dry out all day to day before trimming. All the masks will get painted and shipped next week.

Orders are coming in and I’m making them and shipping them. Thanks for the orders from all of you!
BTW my masks are made of such thick rubber they will sit up on their own without a stand. Let’s see you do that with one of those 50 dollar masks from China.
One Cyclops in the mail, one Gorilla mask cast in rubber in the mold and another Cyclops mask out of the mold drying out before it gets trimmed and ready for paint today.

All finished up. Video for the last part 6 will be uploaded tomorrow.

The mold of the Cyclops was a success. I’ll edit the video tomorrow. No problems at all and I start casting the first mask this Monday.
