Back at the Studio 11-9-2022

Back at the studio yesterday for the first time since last week when we both got sick I poured up a Salt Vampire, another set of Spock ears, and painted a set of Spock ears that are ready to go.

We also built our park bench seat for our film shoot Saturday and Mark Helmick brought by a prop he 3D printed for the film.

Somewhere in there I sanded and painted the booster and external fuel tank for the Estes Shuttle flying rocket model I’m building from the 80s.

Lots more done yesterday. The communion bust has its eyes glazed. It should ship tomorrow.

I cast up some Spock ears for a local customer. I am also making a video about how this is all done with a back story about my making the ears for Star Trek The Motion Picture. Part one will be posted tomorrow.

And I got more work done on my Space Shuttle with a part 2 video soon to follow.

Progress report-1-2-2022

Lots of progress yesterday on my orders.

The communion bust is painted and the base made. I will glaze the eyes today and then it has to sit for a day before I can ship it.

Both rocket kits of the V-2 are cast. 8 fins, two boat tails and two nose cones. Today I’ll fill the boxes with the parts and ship them tomorrow.

I’ve started the Estes Space Shuttle kit and made a video about it I’ll post later. This kit is from the 80’s and they are not made anymore. The shuttle and booster fly to apogee and the shuttle leaves the booster and glides back down while the booster returns by parachute.
